A joint initiative with the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience, as part of a strategic effort to rebuild and strengthen Kiryat Shmona through the development of long-term community and demographic infrastructure.
The initiative works to establish, integrate, and support both new and existing communities in the city, strengthen social resilience, and position Kiryat Shmona as a vibrant and attractive city for young people and families. It serves as a coordinating body, bringing together communities, the local municipality, civil society organizations, and government ministries.
The initiative’s primary goal is to bring hundreds of new families to Kiryat Shmona in the coming months and generate significant demographic growth. This will be achieved by creating a strong social and community support network designed to encourage families to put down roots and remain in the city for the long term, while connecting education, community life, culture, and civic engagement.
At the heart of this model are 10 “welcoming communities”: five communities that are already established and active in Kiryat Shmona, alongside five new welcoming communities that will be developed.
